Bimbocore artist Scene Queen is back with yet another infectious single titled “Pink G-String.” The song, released July 14th, is nostalgic of early 2000s pop and metal - think early Ke$ha meets djent breakdown.

Scene Queen is known for her out-of-pocket lyrics targeting misogynists and genre purists. “Pink G-String” is no exception. She sings in the chorus “Bling, bling / You look so good underneath me / Floss my teeth / With your g-string,” claiming her power as a woman in the bedroom. She even nods to early 2000s icons Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Britney Spears, claiming they are her holy trinity.

After receiving a lot of attention on Tiktok for teasing her songs over the last year, Scene Queen has seen her fair share of comments from music elitists stating she can’t mix genres such as metal and pop. These people feel that her feminine style and lyrics have no place next to a heavy breakdown. Scene Queen has always been vocal about how these peoples’ opinions don’t matter, but she actively advocates twerking in the circle pit in the bridge of “Pink G-String.”

The fact is this: genre purists and others turned off by this idea and similar lyrics from Scene Queen are rooted in misogyny, whether they realize it or not. Twerking or dancing in a similar way is often seen as a “feminine” way of dancing, moving, etc. Everyone deserves to have fun in the pit or at a show, and as long as you’re not hurting others, you should be able to enjoy yourself in any way, whether it’s headbanging, twerking in the pit, or anything in between. Why do others want to restrict someone’s enjoyment because it hasn’t historically been associated with a specific genre of music?

When asked about her single, Scene Queen says the song is fun for her. She feels she successfully combined all elements she was inspired by in “Pink G-String.”

"With my music, I try to live at an intersection of old scene elements, modern beats, and 2000s nostalgia. This song I think is the most representative of that,” said Scene Queen. “I play off of old scene sounds like millionaires and brokencyde, mixed with modern trap and metal elements. But it’s all wrapped up in a Y2K themed bow. The entire song is inspired by 2000s pop culture icons like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan etc. and the video shows that. This track is just outright fun."
