Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Skeletospehere releases her new song, “Mean” on February 9th, 2023. The song is a dream rock ballad that reckons with one’s own shortcomings and insecurities in relationships, something many of us relate to at one point or another. With a dream-pop feel and a grunge spirit, “Mean” showcases Skeletosphere’s unique storytelling talent; in true rock and roll fashion, she is unafraid to bare her soul.

Skeletosphere is a 21 year old artist based in Los Angeles, CA who’s ready to take over the rock scene and reconstruct it to uplift the voices of fellow queer women. The first generation Mexican-American artist aspires to be a part of the wave of LGBTQ+ members that are taking the alt-music scene into their own hands.

Although her hometown is Carson City, Nevada, Skeletosphere spent every summer in Mexico growing up. She has a close relation to her culture as a Mexican-American woman, holding high importance in the beautiful language and culture the country has to offer. Her earlier childhood was mostly involved in sports—however she always had an interest in music.

Skeletosphere is an artist capable of incorporating her own identity into her music, staying in tact with her truest self and expressing that honestly through her craft—all while having fun with it all! Rock music has had a deep effect on the artist’s way of looking at the world and reflecting on it, granting her the tools to create works of art similar to the inspirational voices she listened to growing up. Alongside this, her family would play a lot of Spanish music, which kept the artist connected to her romantic side. All of these components help the artist with staying honest with herself in her music, charging ahead into the industry with a godspeed DIY or die attitude.
