Evol Walks collaborates with Stockholm metalcore band Defueld for a new, emotional metal ballad titled “Saints and Sinners.” The song was released on October 14th and was shortly accompanied with a lyric video released on October 15th. Evol Walks vocalist Leah Martin-Brown and Defueld vocalist Chris Wetterstrom have worked together on co-writing and production efforts in the past, and this is the two’s first formal duet together.

Martin-Brown and Wetterstrom work well together; Martin-Brown delivers vocals that are always spot-on and a force to be reckoned with. Wetterstrom also has a powerful voice that brings some edge and heaviness to the second verse. “Saints and Sinners” is dark-sounding, and the song is designed to represent some hardship. However, Martin-Brown and Wetterstrom want the single to act as almost a protest song; anybody can rise up from the ashes and get out of a dark path.

“We wanted to create a true duet – lots of harmonies and colour in the vocals,” began Martin-Brown. “Although it seems to be a dark track, we really wanted to convey that, although things seem bleak, there is still hope. We control our fate.”

Since 2014, Evol Walks has been breaking down doors in hard rock with a “take no prisoners’ attitude. The band has roots in Sweden, Australia, and Los Angeles, and since the pandemic, Martin-Brown has been mostly in Sweden releasing new, high-octane tracks with Evol Walks in anticipation of a full length release. Martin-Brown is a powerhouse vocalist/performer that is paving the way for upcoming women in rock ‘n roll and closely following in the footsteps of performers like Taylor Momsen, Lzzy Hale, Joan Jett, and Amy Lee.
